BIO
Simeon Taylor is an academic specialising in the areas of animation, design,
film, and interactivity. He has taught for 8 years in higher education. Prior
to this he spent 15 years working in the creative industries across film,
design, animation and games. He has worked as an animation and vfx artist in
films and commercials, including the Oscar winning film series Happy Feet. For
Foxtel as a motion graphics designer on their premiere channels. At Atari as a
games designer on Triple-A video game titles such as Transformers.
Simeon teaches in the Screen & Design group across Animation, Film and
Television, and Design.
Simeon's research centres around exploring new technologies for co-creation
and co-design. His research has been published in academic journals and
conferences. He has been involved as a key researcher in a number of
significant funded projects that have ranged from engineering and
construction, to historical culture preservation, to performance and dance.
