BIO
I am currently employed as a Senior Research Coordinator at Deakin Rural Health (DRH), in the School of Medicine, which involves project coordination as well as supporting the DRH research agenda through implementation of research capacity building, research governance, and performance monitoring initiatives. In this role I draw on my diverse range of skills and experiences including my health sector knowledge, high-level interpersonal skills and experience managing large scale projects.
I began my career working as a pharmacist and during this time I honed my clinical, communication and management skills, working in a variety of settings in both community and hospital pharmacies, from inner city Melbourne to regional Victoria and the United Kingdom.
After many years working as a community pharmacist, I transitioned to roles in education and research when I began work at Monash University, Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (FPPS). I began as a Pharmacy Practice tutor, keen to share my clinical knowledge with the next generation of undergraduate and intern pharmacists. This led to work in curriculum development, of online tools to support the development of professional skills in patient care for undergraduate students. During this time I was also a research assistant, which is where my interest in research began. For the five years immediately prior to moving to Deakin University, I worked as the Pharmacy Senior Project Coordinator as part of an international education capacity building program that successfully delivered four Monash University health science programs to a university in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
