BIO
Dr. Trish Corbett has a BSc (Honours) and PhD in the are of Marine Ecotoxicology. She is the Academic Director (Teaching) and Deputy Course Director of the Bachelor of Marine Science in the School of Life and Environmental Science.
Trish has a number of research interests including marine ecotoxicology and human impacts, conservation, ocean literacy with a focus on community engagement and education, and teaching & learning scholarship to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
Prior to becoming a Teaching Scholar, Trish held a variety of teaching positions within the school of Life and Environmental Sciences and led the World First Middle Island Penguin Conservation Project, which uses Maremma Guardian Dogs to protect Little Penguins on Middle Island in Warrnambool. She is passionate about building community education opportunities' and partnerships to promote conservation of marine and coastal environments.
As a Teaching scholar Trish teaches a number of units and has been involved in course and unit development within the Marine Science degree. Teaching areas include: Marine and Freshwater Environments, Sustainable Futures, Transdisciplinary Research and Indigenous Engagement.
