BIO
I am a biostatistician with expertise in the design and analysis of observational studies and clinical trials. Since completing my PhD, I have been working with multidisciplinary collaborators across a broad range of health fields. I have led the analysis on several large observational cohort longitudinal studies focusing on child and adult health outcomes, such as the 2000 stories Victorian Adolescent Health Cohort Study; Victorian Intergenerational Health Cohort; The Childhood to Adolescence Transition Study; Beyondblue; the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children; and International Youth Development Study. The focus of this research has been on mental health (peri-natal depression, adolescent and adult mental health), alcohol use, licit and illicit substance use, and self-harm, and child development (puberty, academic outcomes and childhood obesity).
In my current position as a Research Fellow in the Biostatistics Unit in the Faculty of Health at Deakin University, in the past 6 years, I have been the lead statistician multiple studies investigating heart failure, using cohort studies, electronic hospital records, and Victorian administration data. I have also worked extensively with researchers conducting studies in food retail research, using time-series analysis to estimate the effect of healthy food interventions on food sales.
