BIO

Architecture Lecturer, Bachelor of Design (Architecture), Master of Architecture

 

Elsie is a lecturer in both the undergraduate and post graduate architecture courses at Deakin University where she currently teaches Design, History and Theory, and Communications. 

 

Elsie has recently completed her PhD at Deakin University under the supervisor of Akari Nakai Kidd, Ursula de Jong and Steven Cooke. Her research examines understandings of landscape and how this has affected Australian architectural practices, with a particular focus on Melbourne during the 1970s. She also has a keen interest in visual methodlogies and how these might be applied in cross disciplinary historical studies. 

 

Elsie is the current secretary of the Society of Architectural Historians, Australia and New Zealand.
