TEACHING EXPERTISE
As a passionate and enthusiastic teacher, I believe that education is reciprocal and co-constructed, and that the process of teaching and learning is situated in experience, communities, inquiry, and practice. I challenge students’ understandings, cultural experiences, and prior knowledge, and advocate the importance of their role as future teachers in supporting the diverse needs of children and young people within the frameworks of social justice, inclusivity, and diversity. I create learning environments that stimulate curiosity, inspire creativity and innovation, encourage critical thinking, and empower students to be agents of their own learning.
My teaching areas include: Communication, language and literacy in early years; Multiliterate Learners in Early Years Environments; Inclusive Education; and Language and Literacy Teaching in the Primary Classroom.
