RESEARCH INTERESTS

Have you ever questioned whether to trust what someone was telling you? In forensic situations such as police interviews, the courtroom, or assessments for out-of-home care, what witnesses have to say can have important consequences. My research specialises in interviewing techniques to help interviewers in these situations elicit plentiful and accurate accounts from vulnerable witnesses. In particular, I focus on the specialist interviewing of vulnerable groups such as children, victim/survivors of family violence, people with a disability, and Indigenous Australians. I am passionate about student supervision and greatly enjoy supervising students in these areas.
