BIO
Dr Michelle Benstead is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychology and Deputy Associate Head of School (International). She has expertise in consulting services, where she has coordinated academic expertise to deliver externally commissioned research and evaluation projects. Dr Benstead has experience in designing and evaluating evidence-based programs, with a particular focus on mixed-methods approaches, including qualitative research. Her work is grounded in real-world application and close collaboration with partners, which has informed policy and service delivery in areas related to child and family wellbeing. She has led evaluations spanning service model development, program implementation, and outcome assessment. Her PhD, for which she was also awarded a Youth Mental Health PhD Scholarship from Australian Rotary Health, focused on designing and evaluating a family-based intervention to support children experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety.
