TEACHING EXPERTISE
I consider teaching and supervision a very important aspect of being an academic/researcher and have many years of experience creating/redeveloping units around consumer behaviour and both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
I recently completed an appointment to the role of Associate Dean (Research), Business and Law, during which I refrained from taking on new students and instead acted as a backstop for candidates who required new supervisors for various reasons (for example, upon retirement of their principal). The three candidates taken on by myself in these circumstances all completed in a timely fashion. I am also an Associate Supervisor for an external PhD student enrolled at Simon Fraser University (Canada), one of Business and Law's strategic partners.
Having moved away from more administrative roles, I am looking forward to taking on new PhD candidates and developing the next generation of researchers at the interface of consumer behaviour, the promotion of health and wellbeing, and marketing.
