BIO

Having been a researcher in both industry and academic settings, I have built my career using materials and electrochemistry to develop new technologies to power our world using renewable and sustainable sources. I have worked in and led teams to develop materials and prototypes of hydrogen fuel cells and electrolysers, batteries, and green iron electrolysers.

At Deakin, I am a research leader in the successful battery team where we have grown Australia's largest battery research team that has built a truly global reputation of research excellence in battery electrolytes. In 2021, we established Australia's pre-eminent prototyping facility, Deakin University's Battery Research and Innovation Hub, where we have led the way in working with the emerging Australian battery industry.
