BIO
Dr Luana Main is an Associate Professor in Applied Sport Science at Deakin University, Australia. Internationally recognised for her work with monitoring the health and well-being of athletes, firefighters and Defence personnel, she has >120 publications and conference presentations. Her research investigates the impact of multi-stressor environments on well-being and performance. Drawing on a range of different wearable technology, circulating biomarkers, and brain-behaviour interrelationships to identify early warning signs of excessive stress exposure, and manage risk of compromised long-term health. Ultimately applying these concepts in the contexts of physically demanding occupations. My goal is to reduce maladaptive psycho-physiological responses to job demands by understanding the underlying mechanisms and creating practical monitoring solutions for personnel.
