BIO
Professor Wadley is a physiologist in the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences and a member of the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition (IPAN). He has over 20 years experience leading/co-ordinating clinical trials and an international reputation for his expertise regarding the impact of exercise and nutritional interventions on glucose metabolism, oxidative stress and on cardiac growth. Over the past several years he has developed considerable new knowledge in the field of diabetes and redox biology by conducting several long-term clinical trials investigating ascorbic acid (vitamin C) supplementation in healthy people and for the treatment of glucose levels in people with diabetes. In these projects he supervised a number of Honours and PhD students and postdoctoral researchers to successfully complete the studies.
