TEACHING EXPERTISE
As IFM Assocate Director for Education and Training of ECR and HDR, I provide leadership in research-led education and HDR supervision, with a focus on mentoring and developing independent researchers with strong communication, critical thinking, and research skills. I have supervised PhD candidates to completion and support students in producing high-quality research outputs.
I am co-chair and lecturer of the University-wide PhD unit Academic Writing and Communication (SSC900), led by SEBE and delivered across multiple faculties. This core unit supports approximately 150–200 doctoral candidates per trimester and is the only mandatory unit for PhD students at Deakin, focusing on academic writing, research communication, and engagement with diverse audiences.
Through supervision, teaching, and mentoring, I contribute to strengthening ECR and HDR capability and fostering a supportive research training environment at Deakin.
