Professor Matthew Fuller-Tyszkiewicz is the Associate Dean for Research and Impact within the Faculty of Health (2024-present). Prior to this, he was the Associate Head of School (Research) in the School of Psychology. He also led the Data Science Unit in the Centre for Research into Social and Early Emotional Development across the human lifespan (SEED-Lifespan). With an impressive record of more than 300 academic publications and over $20 million in external research funding over the past decade, Professor Fuller-Tyszkiewicz's work focuses on applications (and implications) of digital health use for mental health conditions.
His research primarily focuses on developing effective methods to assess, track, and address common and costly psychological and physical health conditions. A key aspect of his work involves leveraging advanced technologies, such as machine learning and artificial intelligence, to improve the detection of individuals and communities at risk of mental health challenges. This innovative approach also aids in the efficient allocation of resources towards prevention and intervention strategies, ensuring timely and targeted treatment for those in need. Professor Fuller-Tyszkiewicz's commitment to integrating cutting-edge technology in his research exemplifies his commitment to cross-disciplinary partnerships to address real world problems.
