  • CAREER HIGHLIGHT
    Dr Tan has received NACE Fellow honour in recognition of distinguished contributions in the field of corrosion and its prevention, specifically the Fellowship recognises his work developing a technology which can detect localised corrosion which can occur in and on pipelines (for the development of an electrochemically integrated multielectrode array, namely the wire beam electrode method).
  • CAREER HIGHLIGHT
    Dr Tan has over 25 years of research, teaching and industry engagement experiences in the field of applied electrochemistry and corrosion technologies. His substantial contribution to electrochemical methods for corrosion testing and monitoring has been reviewed/highlighted in an invited research book (Y.J. Tan, 2013, Heterogeneous Electrode Processes and Localized Corrosion, John Wiley & Sons Inc., USA, 246pp).
  • CAREER HIGHLIGHT
    Dr Tan has successfully coordinated/taught undergraduate courses including Corrosion Engineering and 'Applied Chemistry', and also postgraduate courses including Corrosion Chemistry and Flowline Corrosion. Dr Tan's teaching and research are associated with the Deakin Corrosion Engineering laboratories at Deakin University's Waurn Ponds campus.
