RESEARCH INTERESTS
As the deepen passion for teaching and teaching practice grew, Michael is emerging into the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) by translating years of practice into higher recognition and output. While new to SoTL as a career definition, Michael has consistently championed student engagement, authentic assessment design, reflective and collaborative teaching practice, and academic integrity through available opportunities of peer-mentoring, forums, workshops and leadership of courses and units. Moving forward, there is desire to strengthen this practice through evidence-based approaches and towards goals of disseminating and expanding pedagogical innovation, particularly in the use of genAI in student learning.
Before transferring to an Education-Focussed Academic, Michael's previous research interests and knowledge areas were around digital practices within Architecture (Parametric Modelling, Digital Fabrication Techniques - 3D Printing / Rapidprototyping, Digital Design process and Computer Modelling - CAD/ CAM).
