BIO

Material chemist scientist and research fellow with expertise in sustainable polymers and plastics, carbon fibre composites, recycling technologies, polymer processing, and advanced materials characterization. 

 

Dr Zabihi’s publications have advanced carbon-fibre composites across polymer chemistry, green matrices, fibre modification, hierarchical interphases, manufacturing and closed-loop recovery. His research showed how interphase chemistry governs stress transfer, how dynamic networks unite performance and recyclability, and how processing determines sustainability. His works pioneered zero-waste recovery of carbon fibres and polymer constituents and reactivatable prepregs with extended shelf life, integrating matrix, fibre, interface, manufacture and end-of-life design.

 

Dr Zabihi is recognised among the world’s top 2% of scientists in the Stanford–Elsevier database for both career-long and 2025 single-year citation impact within the Materials subfield.
