RESEARCH INTERESTS
As an academic, Malcolm' primary area of research was in Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and the leadership and curriculum innovations required to build WIL into the higher education curriculum. His focus has been oriented toward WIL in STEM curricula where he was a member of a number of national project teams working in this space. He has published a number of research papers, presented at conferences and written project reports in this area.
Malcolm's secondary interests focus on Computer Interface Design and Human-Computer Interaction. The scholarship of these disciplines was used to develop innovative curricula for both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
In later years as an academic leader, Malcolm was a mentor and teacher of academics across the University developing professional development programs for staff teams, curriculum design and the development information support systems.
