TEACHING EXPERTISE
Earlier academic roles included chairing placement-based and foundational WIL units. My approach to teaching in these units was to take a coaching/mentoring position to support and guide student centred learning whilst students were undertaking placements. This approach remains today in a teach-the-teacher frame. As a Senior Fellow (SFHEA) I am committed to effective approaches to high quality teaching and learning in WIL and prioritise engagement to empower academics to excel as WIL champions. I received a VC's Award (2021) for my role in the conception of the SEGP and the capability building of leads and team members as part of the 12 incubated projects during (2021, 2022 and 2023).
