BIO

Course Director - Master of Nursing Practice (Critical Care Suite)

Dr Elizabeth Oldland is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing and
Midwifery and Course Director of the suite of critical care courses within the
Master of Nursing Practice at Deakin University. Elizabeth has 35 years
experience as a nurse in a variety of roles including intensive care and
coronary care clinical specialist and manager positions and, since 2007, in
academia.

Elizabeth leads a research program in Team-Based Learning scholarship, and
nurses' roles in safety and quality. These data inform teaching and learning
activities and curricula review to ensure these courses meet students'
learning needs and university, industry and professional practice expectations
for specialty nurse graduates who are equipped with the knowledge, skills and
attitudes essential for safe, high quality healthcare delivery.

Elizabeth is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, demonstrating
her commitment to teaching, learning and the student experience, through
engagement in a practical process that encourages research, reflection and
development.
