DrDilal Saundage

Dilal Saundage is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics. He is an expert in Data Analytics and a Senior Certified Professional of the Australian Computer Society. Dilal has held various leadership roles within the department recently, including interim Head of Department and Director of Teaching. Currently, he is the Associate Dean of Teaching and Learning at the Faculty of Business and Law.

He earned his PhD in Information Systems from Deakin University. His current research on Artificial Intelligence examines the opportunities and challenges of Responsible Artificial Intelligence, along with evaluating user experience and satisfaction with AI agents. Additionally, his work in Information Systems explores the role of theory and practice in the field and offers a resource-based view of digital transformation. As a member of the Association of Information Systems, Dilal regularly contributes to and reviews numerous Information Systems conferences.

Before entering academia, Dilal worked as a Management Consultant. He has over twenty years of experience in higher education, is recognised as a leader in teaching and learning, and has received multiple teaching awards. He designed and developed several successful courses, including the Master of Business Analytics, Bachelor of Business Analytics, and Graduate Certificate of Artificial Intelligence for Business, and led the curriculum innovation by creating courses on the MOOC platform (FutureLearn) and some new units in StartAnytime mode. He has also successfully secured grants, with his most recent project being funded by the Office of Learning and Teaching (OLT) to develop innovative teaching methods.
