BIO

Minoo Naebe is a Professor of Carbon Fibre and Composites and the founding Group Leader at Carbon Nexus within the Institute for Frontier Materials (IFM). The manufacture and use of carbon fibre and composite materials with potential to have significant impact on industry and manufacturing sectors is the major focus of Professor Naebe’s research. The overarching aim is to use these materials to lightweight structures e.g in transportation where this leads to improved fuel efficiency and reduction in environmental emissions; and adding strength and functionalities.

Professor Naebe has more than a decade experience in carbon fibres and polymer composites and has successfully led several projects in collaboration with local and international industry partners in transport, energy and construction. Professor Naebe has led research into the development of carbon fibre from sustainable, low-cost precursors and her research has led into several commercial outcomes including a spin-off company at Deakin Manufuture.
