RESEARCH INTERESTS
Dr Wong has collaborated with eight national and three international partners to conduct this research, showcasing her ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams. Dr Wong's contributions extend beyond academia, as she has collaborated with industry partners Oasis Diagnostics on a project aimed at developing a novel cell-based screening tool to reduce the impact of bowel cancer in the community. This collaboration has not only earned her recognition but also resulted in internal grants totalling $61,640 from 2022 to 2023. Further, Dr Wong collaborated with DNA Genotek and led the project to investigate sample collection methods and cellular heterogeneity using cytology compared with cellular deconvolution algorithms. This work received positive feedback and Dr Wong was subsequently approached by several researchers and industry representatives seeking her advice on the cytology and DNA methylation method. She has been invited as a speaker to present her work at the International Saliva Symposium 2021, ASHG 2021 and her work was advertised in EpiGenie.com, a reputable publicly accessible website for epigenetics research, further establishing her presence in the scientific community.
