TEACHING EXPERTISE

Over the years Sam has taught units in politics, international studies and development studies at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Her favourite units to teach have been research design units at Honours and Masters levels, where she enjoys working with students to build their capacities to become producers of knowledge; an Honours units on theories of power; and an undergraduate unit on the politics of poverty and prosperity which gives students the opportunity to learn about why some parts of the world prosper while others do not, and is one of the only units in the School with substantive examination of parts of Africa and Latin America.
