BIO

Chris is a lecturer in biomedical science. He studied at Deakin University, majoring in biological science. His PhD research was studying metal biology and the cell biology and molecular genetics of the metal-transporting biological systems. This was followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in the Alzheimer's disease laboratory at the Mental Health Research Institute, Parkville, Victoria, investigating the role of metals (copper, iron and zinc) in plaque formation and the ubiquitinylation of proteins.
He returned to Deakin University as a Teaching Scholar in 2016.
His current research interests are in teaching and learning in science at both secondary and tertiary levels, and in metal biology.
