BIO

I am a critical criminologist/political sociologist, with a PhD in political sociology. I currently teach and research in the areas of criminological research methods; and victims and crime.

I have worked across a number of different research environments, including the tertiary sector and research units in the not-for-profit and TAFE sectors.

I have over 15 years experience in research, including managing practice-based research units.

My broad research interest is in the construction of crime, victims and citizens. I use cross-disciplinary research methods to explore these areas. I have a special focus on operationalisng trauma-informed research methodologies. I have a particular interest in research that both supports the needs of victims of crime and translates to public policy.

My tertiary teaching practice draws on research-informed, best-practice trauma-informed teaching methods to support student learning and empowerment.
