    Simon has served on Victorian Registrations and Qualifications Authority panels has been a member of the Melbourne International Film Festival short documentary selection panel, served as a Board Member of the Australian Teachers of Media (ATOM) and from 2009 to 2011 was the Executive Officer of the ATOM Awards. He has also been a judge on the factual TV categories of the Australian TV industry, Logie Awards.

    He is currently a member of the Jury of the Golden Koala Film Festival.
