DrCharles Urwin

I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Deakin University, conducting research in nutritional physiology with a focus on the physiological and applied impacts of nutritional and environmental interventions on human performance and health. My work integrates biochemical, physiological, and perceptual outcomes to better understand both intervention efficacy and real-world applicability. I currently lead and contribute to projects examining nutritional interventions in specific populations, including postmenopausal women, with an emphasis on rigorous experimental design, translational relevance, and the optimisation of strategies to support health, performance, and wellbeing. I completed my PhD at Deakin University, where I investigated sodium citrate and sodium bicarbonate supplementation strategies, focusing on their practical implementation in athletic settings.
