RESEARCH INTERESTS

Sustainable irrigated agriculture - soil organic amendments, nutrition,
greenhouse gases, organic residues in soil and water.

My research involves working with farmers, using on-farm field trials,
combining field monitoring techniques and lab analysis to measure soil and
crop management practises mainly for improved resource use efficiency and also
to inform industry compliance and sustainability targets.

Knowledge Areas
Sustainable irrigation; soil nutrient cycling, soil chemistry and fertility,
organic amendments, greenhouse gases, irrigation water quality

Projects
Optimising the use of manures in southern cotton production, CRDC 2019-2021.
Project leader

Unlocking the true value of organic soil amendments, an innovative farm ready
tool for the effective management of manures and composts, National Landcare
Programme 2018-2022. Principal Investigator

Improving water and nutrient management to enable double cropping in the rice
growing lowlands of Lao and Cambodia, ACIAR. 2015-2019.
