BIO
Nicky is a graduate researcher and nursing academic. She has worked as an intensive care nurse and as a hospital and university educator across a 30-plus-year nursing career in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Her areas of expertise are patient safety, critical and acute care, and evidence-based practice. Nicky has been a Lecturer at Deakin University since 2017, holding teaching and unit chair responsibilities within undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Nicky holds a Master of Nursing (Research) at Deakin University and is currently undertaking an industry-university-sponsored PhD exploring nurse managers’ leadership in a health service.
