BIO

Professor Caryl Nowson leads research related to optimising health with
ageing. Professor Nowson lectures in Nutrition in the School of Exercise and
Nutrition Sciences and the School of Medicine. She teaches at undergraduate
and postgraduate level and also supervises higher degree students. Professor
Nowson is a member of the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition (IPAN)
and a member of the IPAN Executive team. She has a specific focus on reducing
risk of cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis through preventive strategies
that extend throughout the lifespan.
