BIO

Dr.-Ing. Angela Kreutz's scholarship and teaching investigate how urban environments and young people co-shape one another — examining the conditions under which cities sustain or foreclose reciprocal shaping between young people and urban place, and how young people, in actively claiming and transforming their environments, shape both their cities and their own development. Working at the intersection of ecological psychology, anthropology, and urban design, her research combines theoretical innovation with participatory empirical work conducted with young people and communities across diverse cultural and urban contexts globally. As co-leader of the Growing Up in Cities global research network, she brings rare interdisciplinary grounding across architecture, environmental psychology, and anthropology to questions of human-environment co-evolution in Anthropocene cities. Her teaching is grounded in Country-centred design principles, integrating Indigenous knowledges and community-centred approaches into architectural and urban design education.
