BIO

Elena (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain) was awarded a Ph.D. in Latin American Literature by the University of Melbourne in 2018. Her thesis used monsters as a literary analytical tool, and looked at the work of two Argentinian and two Chilean writers who use their fictions as a critique of despotism of the neoliberal status quo.
Before escaping the never-ending economic crisis that rooted in Spain and sent thousands of people her age all around the globe, Elena taught Spanish as a foreign language and completed a two year internship at the University Complutense of Madrid, where she showed both students and lecturers how to make the most out of Moodle. Meanwhile, she finished her MA in Hispanic American Literature and decided to pursue and academic career. Previously, Elena had lived and studied in Germany, as part of her BA in Tourism, and in USA, as part of her BA in Journalism.
