BIO
I am a Wildlife Ecologist with particular interests in Wildlife Conservation, Urban Ecology, and Environmental Education. My research mainly focuses on finding ways for humans and wildlife to coexist in our towns and cities, in presence of impacts from human infrastructure such as roads, light, and noise. My recent and current research includes assessing impacts of urbanisation and light pollution on microbat communities, impacts of anthropogenic factors on mammalian escape behaviour, impacts of anticoagulant rodenticides on wildlife, and use of pre-existing structure as road crossing structure by small mammals, as well as increasing awareness of bats in the public through education and community engagement.
With more than 15 years of tertiary teaching experience, I am also passionate about teaching Wildlife Conservation and broader Environmental Science. My goal is to inspire and support learning of future conservation biologists using student-centred, evidence-based, inclusive practice.
