BIO

Dr Ayuba Issaka is a Research Fellow and Chronic Disease Epidemiologist in the Global Centre for Preventive Health and Nutrition (GLOBE) within the Institute of Health Transformation, specialising in cardiometabolic risk factors. His research examines the causal pathways linking food insecurity, a critical social determinant of health, to obesity, physical inactivity, unhealthy diet patterns, harmful alcohol use, and non-communicable diseases, including type-2-diabetes and heart diseases. Ayuba's interdisciplinary approach integrates social epidemiology, digital health tools, and implementation science to co-design, evaluate, and scale equitable prevention and management strategies for low-income and disadvantaged populations. He is committed to translating evidence into policy-relevant interventions that reduce health inequities.
