BIO
Bridget Sarah is a registered Occupational Therapist and Play Therapist. She completed her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, with Honors at Deakin University in 2012 and was awarded the Vice Chancellors award for the most outstanding honors thesis in the Faculty of Health. Bridget completed her Master of Child Play Therapy at Deakin University in 2017 and was awarded the Susan Esdaile prize for the most outstanding thesis relevant to parenting and child play therapy.
Bridget has more than 10 years of clinical experience working with children and families in clinic, school and community settings. In her role as lecturer in play therapy, Bridget provides both teaching and clinical supervision. Bridget is an early career researcher, actively involved in several discipline specific research projects. Bridget has a particular research interest in the scholarship of teaching and learning in play therapy, particularly the evaluation of clinical competence. She holds a Graduate Certificate of Higher Education, Teaching and Learning.
Bridget has previously served as a board member of the Australia Pacific Play Therapy Association (APPTA) and maintains a small clinical work load, therapeutically supporting children and families.
