"Nes Artist Residency (Nes Listamiðstöð) is an international residency established 2008 in Skagaströnd, a small village in Northwest Iceland. The studio at Fjörubraut 8 was once a fish processing plant in Skagaströnd. Nes provides artists, writers, and musicians with workspace and accommodation in a shared house, and the freedom to develop work at their own pace. Now one of the largest residencies in Iceland. ..."
For this residency I created a body of photographic artworks based around my current research. The project was to make a series of photographic artworks utilising medium format digital and analogue cameras, 4x5 cameras and Infrared filters. The created work was seen as expanding on previous experimental photographic procedures created both in the studio and with students in particular photography Units.
Other activities for this residency included photography workshops, artists talks, presentation of work in progress, and the exhibition of work made on site.
