BIO

Penny commenced working at Deakin in 2016, following work at a primary care partnership, that allowed experience to be gained in partnerships, sysetms thinking and working on complex health issues within community. Her work focuses on using adaptations of community based system dynamics in community settings, allowing community to better understand and develop solutions that they care about. 

 

Currently Penny is asssiting with the co-design elements of the $9m MRFF funded project DELIVER, across SW Victoria and is the project co-ordinator for the MRFF funded The 3S (Spatial, Systems and Solutions Approach to Rural Food Environments - Incubator stream., led by Dr. Cindy Needham. Locally called "Map My", this project involves collaboration between researchers in rural health, key public health stakeholders and communities from rural Victoria and New South Wales in the communities of Tamworth Rural Council and Colac Otway Shire. The project will co-design a Web Based Platform (WBP) using participatory mapping and group model building approaches looking at healthy food access.
