RESEARCH INTERESTS

Dr Simon Vajda’s research focus is centered on Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Modelling and Human Automation Interaction. This includes the design of automation in systems to assist humans in making decisions. A critical factor in automation is how we can design and develop automation around unknowable properties that can impact the system and cause confusion to the user. During his PhD Simon was embedded with Defence Science and Technology (DST) Group to identify areas of automation, within the large scale and complex simulated training environment for RAAF pilots.
