BIO

Seng Loke, who earned his PhD from the University of Melbourne in 1998, is a Professor of Computer Science at Deakin University in Australia. He currently holds and had held multiple leadership roles within the university, including co-director of the Platforms and Applications Lab, previously in the Centre for Internet-of-Things ECOsystems Research and Experimentation (CITECORE), and previously director of the Centre for Software, Systems & Society (CS3) at Deakin's School of Information Technology. Previously, he also served as an Adjunct Professor in both the School of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences at La Trobe University, and the School of Business and Tourism at Southern Cross University. Seng Loke's research interests revolve around the concept of the Internet-of-Things, ranging from smart things and smarter cities to cooperative vehicles, edge computing, IoT-assisted Agetech, ethics for smart devices, and quantum Internet computing. He has been on the Australian Research Council (ARC) College of Experts. He also plays a coordinator role in the Deakin University Quantum Computing Research Network.
