MsVanessa Meachen

Vanessa is Trusts and Foundations Manager, working on optimising the University's relationships with the philanthropic sector, as well as guiding individual researchers to produce the best philanthropic funding applications for their work.

Vanessa has worked as a philanthropic consultant and as Development Manager at an environmental not-for-profit, but her career in the for-purpose sector began with 15 years at Philanthropy Australia, the peak body for philanthropic giving.

At Philanthropy Australia Vanessa held a variety of roles including delivering workshops for grantseekers and grantmakers, and providing information and assistance to potential philanthropists and professional advisors. She was the inaugural manager of Philanthropy Australia's Research and Policy area, coordinating the organisation's representation role through drafting, finalising and submitting policy submissions and coordinating meetings.
