TEACHING EXPERTISE

Alissa teaches across the undergraduate and postgraduate nutrition programs and is passionate about creating engaging, inclusive, and evidence-informed learning experiences. Her teaching focuses on helping students apply nutrition knowledge to real-world problems while developing skills in critical thinking, research, and evidence-based practice. She has particular interests in assessment design, academic integrity, and supporting students to engage responsibly with emerging technologies such as generative artificial intelligence (GenAI).

She supervises Honours, Master's and PhD students in the areas of children's eating behaviours, parental feeding practices, dietary intake, food fussiness, and early childhood nutrition.
