BIO
Thomas Mock is an Research Fellow in the School of Life and Environmental Science at Deakin University.
Since completion of his PhD which investigated the fatty acid metabolism and nutritional quality of farm-reared Atlantic salmon, Thomas has worked with numerous commercially important fish and shellfish species through his work with NuSea.Lab, particularly in the areas of fatty acid and amino acid metabolism and product quality resulting in numerous peer-reviewed publications. Thomas has also worked previously in the commercial sector as an aquaculture technician.
Thomas is currently collaborating on numerous research projects investigating the use of terrestrially-derived feed ingredients and novel technologies to improve the sustainability of the aquaculture and seafood sectors and supervises multiple honours and PhD students at Deakin University in the field of aquaculture nutrition.
