Dr. Faezeh Makhlooghiazad is an ARC Industry Research Fellow at the Institute for Frontier Materials (IFM), Deakin University, and a leading researcher in electrochemical energy storage. With a strong portfolio of peer-reviewed publications, international presentations, and cross-sector collaborations, she is dedicated to advancing materials innovation for safer, more efficient, and sustainable energy storage systems.
Her expertise spans a wide range of solid-state electrolytes, including polymer materials, organic ionic plastic crystals, and zwitterionic compounds, targeting advanced battery technologies such as lithium-metal, sodium-metal, and proton batteries, as well as high-temperature PEM fuel cells. Faezeh has made significant contributions to the development of next-generation high-performance solid electrolytes and proton-conducting membranes for these technologies.
She is the recipient of several prestigious fellowships, including the Australian Government Endeavour Fellowship (2018), ARC Early Career Industry Fellowship (2024), and the Australian Hydrogen Research Network (AHRN) International Hydrogen Fellowship (2024). She actively collaborates with global research institutes, including Fraunhofer-Institut für Solare Energiesysteme ISE (Germany), CIC energiGUNE (Spain), Polymat (Spain), and CSIRO.
