DrLaura Tubino

Dr Laura Tubino SFHEA is a higher education scholar specialising in assessment innovation, curriculum transformation, academic development, and inclusive learning design. She works with collaboratively with academic teams to design and implement research-informed, scalable approaches to curriculum, assessment, and learner support across higher education contexts. 

 

Her research examines assessment meaning, learner agency, and neurodiversity-affirming design, with particular attention to how social and technological change—especially the rise of AI—reshapes underlying assumptions about teaching and learning. She develops and studies approaches that integrate theory with practice, using curriculum and assessment as sites for sustained pedagogical change.

 

At Deakin University, Laura leads cross-disciplinary initiatives that translate research-informed principles into educational practice. Her work has contributed to sustained shifts in assessment, feedback and learner centred curriculum design across programs and schools, and has been recognised nationally and internationally, through awards from Universities Australia, Advance HE, and ASCILITE.
