DrReza Taban

I am an Education-Focused Lecturer at the School of Architecture and Built Environment at Deakin University. My multidisciplinary background in architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) and over 19 years of industry experience have shaped and advanced my academic career. My teaching philosophy emphasises the importance of keeping students motivated and coaching them in both traditional classroom settings and online distance-learning systems. I am an active Member of the Australian Institute of Building (AIB) and the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveying (AIQS).

My scholarship of teaching and learning is driven by an interdisciplinary approach aimed at advancing tertiary education practices. This includes collaborative unit delivery, innovative assessment design, the integration of teaching and learning tools, and the fostering of inclusive practices. My research interests also cover BIM, digital engineering, construction economics, construction productivity, sustainability, and innovation in engineering and construction projects.
