BIO
Dr. Farnad Nasirzadeh is an Associate Professor in Construction Management at
Deakin University. He is the director of a large multidisciplinary research
group named 'Workforce Safety and Performance Research and Innovation'
(https://wspri.deakin.edu.au/) at Deakin.
Prior to joining Deakin, he was a Lecturer at UNSW and an Associate Professor
at PNU. He also has more than 17 years of professional experience in senior
management roles within the industry, including serving as the director of the
risk management department for two large oil and gas field development
companies.
Farnad's main research interest is modelling complex systems with a specific
focus on workers/human performance. His research has recently focused on data-
driven models that combine simulation and sensing to model workers'
performance/safety more accurately. Farnad has published several papers in
highly-ranked journals in the areas of simulation and sensing and has
attracted several internal and external research grants.
