BIO
Stuart began his career by creating shareware video games for PC with a friend before studying Computer Science and Software Engineering at Swinburne University. During his third year, he secured an Industry-Based Learning placement with the Advanced Technologies Group at Swinburne University, becoming the second person ever employed by the group under the supervision of Alfred Deakin Professor Kon Mouzakis. The group later evolved into the Information Technology Innovation Group, where Stuart worked for approximately five years, contributing to several successful projects primarily for government clients.
In 2001, Stuart transitioned to professional video game development, a career spanning 16 years. He shipped over 20 titles and worked on numerous others across platforms including PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Nintendo GameCube, Wii, Wii U, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, Nokia N-Gage, and iOS.
In 2017, Stuart returned to his roots, becoming a Principal Software Engineer at Deakin Software & Technology Innovation Laboratory, once again under the supervision of Alfred Deakin Professor Kon Mouzakis. The laboratory later evolved into the Applied Artificial Intelligence Institute (A²I²).
During this time, Stuart has worked on a diverse range of high-profile research projects in sectors such as healthcare, aged care, and mental health, collaborating with the Black Dog Institute and other organisations with significant societal impact.
