BIO

I am an Associate Professor in Sociology who specialises in class, migration and inequality through the lens of relationships and family life. I currently have two research programs in this field: 

  • Cross-class friendships in Australia and the UK, focusing on their implications for tackling social inequality (with Sam Friedman). This research builds on my latest book, Love Across Class (with Eve Vincent), which explored the emotional complexities and interpersonal labour that come with upholding intimate relationships across class.
  • How class travels across regional and national borders to shape migration trajectories and social inequalities.
