BIO

Dr Emily Chan is a Research Fellow at the Deakin Centre for Child & Family Mental Health Research within the School of Psychology. As an early career, migrant and neurodivergent researcher, Emily's recent PhD (2025) was focused on supporting the motivation, engagement and academic success of university students with ADHD. Her research interests include the mental health, wellbeing, learning and inclusion of learners with ADHD and more broadly, neurodivergent learners and their families, ADHD and intersectionality, and lived and living experience-led research using co-design approaches.

She is experienced in managing digital platforms and online professional learning courses and engaging with families, education and health professionals. She enjoys learning about and using tech, humour and good design to make things easier or less boring, and turning complex research findings into accessible and engaging content for diverse audiences.
